Based on Vashon Island, I create fused glass inspired by the endless possibilities of light, color, and form.
I first became fascinated with glass as a child. Years later, I visited a glassblower's home studio and realized that glass was an attainable medium for creative expression. It wasn't something reserved for professional hot shops—it was something I could learn, build, and make my own.
My favorite part is opening the kiln and holding a finished piece up to the window. Every firing is a little different, and seeing the light reveal the colors and patterns never gets old.
I make art because I enjoy the process. If someone else finds a little wonder in it too, that's even better.
